Music & Art

Are you a musician who would love to use your gifts to glorify God in a Christian band in Fauquier County? Remington UMC is looking for musicians to form a contemporary band for worship.

At some point in the future, we are planning on relaunching a contemporary service

featuring modern music for worship.

Please contact Linda McClanahan at (540) 439-2579 if  you are interested.

"When you sing, you pray twice," reads a quote commonly attributed to St. Augustine. United Methodists have been a singing people since Charles Wesley wrote hymns that had the first Methodists singing what they believed.

Today, at Remington United Methodist Church, we continue that tradition with hymns, praise songs, and choruses led by choir, pianist, and praise band. The configurations of our musical groups have changed over the years, but our enjoyment in playing instruments and singing songs to praise God never changes.

At our Sunday service, we share our talents. Stephen Moran and Karen Moran begin our worship with songs of praise using vocals, guitar, and drums. Our choir sings traditional and contemporary anthems every second and fourth Sunday. First and third Sunday anthems are presented by a soloist. Our band and choir enjoying combining to share our love of music too!

We are proud of our music program at RUMC. During the pandemic, our music never stopped. Whether it was guitar and vocals by our pastor at his home, musicians in the Remington Garden for worship service, or Facebook Live as we moved back into the sanctuary, our music program continued to praise God and support the message of His love for us.
