Our Events

We encourage our church family to get together outside of worship times. Our church offers a range of social, learning and volunteer events that help strengthen our members as individuals and as a community.

RUMC MEN'S GROUP

NEXT CAFE: (NONE IN JULY OR AUGUST.) FRI, 6 SEP AT THE LIBRARY OF VIRGINIA (SEE DETAILS BELOW.) SAT, 14 SEP  at 2 PM until 5 PM

Join us for our FREE workshops from 2 pm to 5 pm in Fellowship Hall. Light  snacks and drinks.
No need to register, but we would appreciate an email or phone call to the church so we can  expect you!
There will be NO meetings in July & August; please also note a change of date for September...tentatively, we will be meeting on Fri, 6 Sep to go to the Library of Virginia for a workshop, “Early Virginia Genealogy” (prior to 1850). Cost is $25 ($20 for Foundation Members); purchase tickets online individually sooner rather than later! Contact Gitte Tessier if you would like to car pool. There will be two meetings in September: the 6 September workshop at the Library of Virginia and a 14 September meeting on land surveying with Mary and Ray Root near the church in Remington (meet at the church; it's a short jaunt). In October, the regular meeting day—3rd Saturday—falls on the second day of the Virginia Genealogical Society (VGS) fall conference. Consider signing up for the two-day VGS virtual conference and learn something new. Should you want to join VGS, you will get a discount on the conference ticket.

You're encouraged to join the Men's Group and get involved in several annual events such as:  the Chili Cook-Off, Trunk or Treat, Ham Dinners, and other special events. Meetings are held at in the Fellowship Hall wing. Contact the church office for dates and times.

SATURDAYS, 10 AM, FELLOWSHIP HALL, 6 JULY. ALSO "LACE COTTAGE" MEETS IN PERSON IN FELLOWSHIP HALL ON THURSDAYS AT 10 AM, 18 JULY

The Piedmont Lace Guild of Virginia welcomes all who have an interest in lace and lace making in any form. The guild provides instruction in lace making in a calm and friendly environment. All you need is the interest and enthusiasm, we teach you the skills!

Women's meetings are held in members' homes instead of the church. Call the church office to find the location.

As devoted members of REMINGTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, we are constantly pursuing the calling to be fully devoted followers of Christ. To build a true heaven on Earth, we live life based on the teachings of the Bible, are passionate about prayer and are grounded in spiritual accountability.
